Match report

From the comfort of my car and having a great vantage point, Ardencaple came up against Kilpatrick, another team with a 100% winning record after 4 matches.
Tommy was the first keeper called into any real action, he saved well, spreading himself at the feet of the oncoming striker to clear the ball for a corner, from which he then made a nice easy save.
Caple broke out and after a few bouncing balls, headers to the sky and 50/0 challenges, the ball broke to Aidan and his pass t Nathan split the defence and from around the penalty spot put the ball into the net. 1 – 0
Tom then had a shot from far out that was straight at the keeper. Kilpatrick then had a great effort, a turn and shot that flashed just wide of Tommy’s post. He had it covered!
Eidan picked up the ball on the halfway line, aimed for the corner flag and whipped in a cross which was put behind for a corner. Lewis Fagan and Eidan played some nice one touch football down the left in the space the pitch allowed. Rhys had a free kick fro distance that hit the wall and went for another corner. Tom played a majestic ball through the middle, Brendan saved well at Nathan’s feet and Eidan’s follow up was smashed wide.
Eidan had another shot but this time I was high and handsome over the bar. Chris was upended, in what looked like in the box on the right hand side, only for the referee to give a free kick just outside the box.
Half Time 1 – 0
Subs: Andrew Off – Andy On
Kilpatrick had the first attack of the 2nd half, a more than dodgy throw in was cross in only for Tommy and Rhys to challenge the striker, the ball hit his back and went in. 1 – 1.
Nathan almost gave Caple the lead but his shot cannoned off the bar. Tom had another long shot held by the keeper.
Subs: Aidan off – Jack on
A ball through, nicely timed and the striker beat Tommy, 1 – 2 Kilpatrick.
The next Caple attack saw Chris through, the keeper saves well and from the corner Jack had the first shot which was blocked, Eidan followed in and scored left footed in to the net. 2 – 2.
Jack was trying to play football, unfortunately ever time he got the ball he was put in the air by a Kilpatrick player. One of these challenges was surely in the box, but again the referee gave the free kick just on the edge.
Harry made a last ditch tackle and was caught by the striker, some nice stud marks showing up after the game. Sub Harry off – Aidan On
The final score was Ardencaple 2 – Kilpatrick 2. All in all a pretty decent result on pitch not really big enough to play football.
